Mahomet High School offered the boy's sports of basketball and track.  This is evidenced by the IHSA hardware won in each sport (www.ihsa.org). It is probable that baseball and possibly football were also offered.  Conference affiliation and the above "Quick Facts" information are being sought.

 

 

One excellent run defined the early success of the boys basketball program at Mahomet High School.  The team of 1932-33 made a run all the way into the Elite 8 in the old one-class IHSA basketball playoffs.  It took the team that would eventually win it all, Harvey Thornton, to knock them out of the playoffs.  The MHS boys would later bring home two District titles before their merger with Seymour.  Only the record of the 1932-33 squad is available.  If you have the records and coaches names of the other great Mahomet teams please share the information with us.

Two male ahtletes from Mahomet High School brought home a total of four medals from the IHSA State Track Meet.  Paul Blue was the State Champ in the High Jump in 1937.  Roy Hinton medaled in three different events in the 1925 "B" Meet.  The excellent accomplishments are listed below.
